Alienware M17x R4Alienware has always brought the best of the best packed in something that can only be called greatness. They always could find what is top of the line and put it in their machines, making every gamer drawl for one of their masterpieces. This time they have done the same in their fourth iteration of their gaming 17 inch laptop.

Conveniently called M17x R4, R4 standing for its fourth revision, it is simply put a monster that can eat you up. This laptop has the same outlooks as the previous revision, so externally nothing has changed, but when you open the lid you will see an alien head for a starting button and when you turn it on magic happens. Viewcon USB 3.0 to SATA 3.0 Cable – Drawer without a Drawer

When there is a need of using a 3.5 inch hard drive via a USB port, we usually think of getting a special drawer for the disk that will give us the conversion of the interface, to an USB. But, these drawers are mainly big, so they don’t suffice the need of all the users and plugging in a new hard drive, usually means a bit of tinkering with a screwdriver.

So, now we are reviewing an interesting alternative to this problem. Instead of a regular hard drive drawer, on the end of a USB cable there is a console (dock), for the SATA hard drive, on which there are SATA inputs for the interface and power, a diode to indicate operation of the hard drive and also a jack for additional power, which uses the regular charger, with a switch. The surplus of disks that you have picked up following the natural disasters, which crippled their production and raised their prices, can be a good thing. External storages are not the main deal in most cases, because of their simplicity but, due to circumstances they can prove to be a good addition of the system, while providing additional mobility. We are reviewing four examples made by Revoltec that are made for 2.5 and 3.5 inch hard drives.

Alu-line is obviously a basic line, of external storage devices, from this German maker. It is a basic “Box”, made out of brushed aluminum, while the parts are made out of good quality plastic. Read more of this post

Following the wave of new small multimedia players and their shrinking in size, but expanding in the file formats they are capable of reproducing, is the new Crystal Acoustics with their Media Match Box. This player has quite small dimensions but it brings a big punch.

The player has dimensions of 54x84x16 mm, which makes it as big as a credit card and it comes with a remote that is as big as the player itself. The necessity of the remote is quite small and you wouldn’t need it on your travels, because the player has on board control buttons on the underside. The built is quite sturdy with good quality plastic and a glossy finish. Read more of this post
