Dispatch.io, a Techstars company that enables users to transfer data in the cloud, has raised $1M in seed funding. The co-founders of the company are 17-year-old Alex Godin, Jesse Lamb, Gary LosHuertos and Nick Stamas. One of the investors is Thrive Capital.

Dispatch.io works with DropBox and Google docs, and the team is working on integration with Gmail. People generally have to use various cloud services to store documents. What Dispatch.io does is to connect all of them so that you can have access to all your data at one place. Think of it something like a Finder window on a Mac. Documents can also be dragged and dropped from one service to another, which makes it an incredibly useful tool.

This start-up has received much attention from the press after it received the impressive initial funding. It remains to be seen what the response of the public will be after they launch of Dispatch.io.

Alex Godin is a high-school student and is the son of marketing guru Seth Godin. He is said to have taught himself the basics of coding in seven days.

Jesse Lamb was a lawyer who created Airdropper, a successful startup for transferring data, after the problem he faced in sending documents online securely. AirDropper was founded in August, 2010. The team at Dispatch.io has turned the idea of Airdropper into the new start-up, Dispatch.io.

The company was launched earlier this week at Demo Day.
