TwinStrata, an innovator in enterprise-class data storage, data protection and disaster recovery/business continuity solutions using cloud storage, raised $8 million in series B funding. The major investment came from Avalon Ventures.

The company said it will use the funds to increase sales and marketing for its CloudArray solution.

TwinStrata’s CloudArray cloud storage can be used for data storage, backup and disaster recovery. It is an enterprise-class data storage and data protection solution that easily connects applications and backup infrastructure with cloud storage. It makes sure you never run out of storage, do not have to tap backwards or use offsite storage and can recover data easily to any location.

The company’s capital now stands at $14.5 million, after the recent funding.

Cloud storage providers such as Amazon, RackSpace, EMC Atmos, OpenStack, Scality, Nirvanix etc. use CloudArray are supported by CloudArray.

CloudArray software and hardware solutions support all file and operating systems, and give you an edge over offsite storage solutions. It offers features such as pay-as-you-go, unlimited capacity, local performance, in-cloud snapshots and disaster recovery.

CloudArray is available as virtual appliance download or physical hardware appliance.
