The Clash Of The Middle Class – Part 7 – XFX Radeon HD 7770 Black Edition

XFX Radeon HD 7770 Black EditionThe last of the cards in this test comes from the American manufacturer XFX. The tested model is a part of their Black Edition, which defers from the rest of their offer by the great cooling technology Duratec, which incorporates high quality coils with a ferrite core. Their card looks appealing with the impeccably designed cooler that has a shield made out of brushed aluminum. In the price range of the Radeon HD 7770 this is really a rare thing, because the choice of material usually goes to plastic. Read more of this post

Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition Vapor-x – The Letter X Is Back In

Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition Vapor-xWhen we firstly wrote about AMD’s referent card Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition, our only remark was that it gives out too much noise with the manufacturers fan. It was just a question of time when their partners are going to put on the market their own models that don’t follow the referent design.

As expected, Sapphire was the first to come out, putting on the market their version of Vapor-X. Except for the most impressive “vapor-chamber” cooler, that the company has implemented on any card so far, this Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition uses a fully redesigned PCB, in accordance to the referent card. GeForce GTX 680 – Good Old NVidia

GeForce GTX 680

GeForce GTX 680

Except for good GPU’s, NVidia is master of creating a big hype, especially before their launch. AMD should learn something from them. With every new generation they raised a lot of dust, about how great their new product will be, upon which they would present a lot of test, reviews, and thoughts, about their new technology. Now they presented the newest Kepler architecture and with it again the same story.

Kepler or GK104 is NVidia’s GPU, made in 28nm technology. They didn’t want to experiment that much, so they kept the basic principles that they picked up from Fermi. Read more of this post

Radeon HD 7970 – The Story Of The Superior Title Holder

Radeon HD 7970

Radeon HD 7970

This story begins when NVIDIA officially announced the new graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680. At the beginning, the performance tests showed that NVIDIA’s model is somewhat superior to AMD Radeon HD 7970.

AMD made a decision that the time has come to get the Radeon HD 7970 back on the throne and to regain the title of superior GPU graphics card- which means the fastest. Luckily for them, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 was a bit faster, so they decided to increase the core frequency slightly and thus, to restore the Radeon HD 7970 as leader.

From the previous information, the basic Radeon HD 7970 has core frequency of 925 MHz. Read more of this post

Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 2GB with Dual Fan – The diamond crown of the generation

Sapphire RadeonHD

Sapphire RadeonHD

All the previous generations that were made by AMD and modified by Sapphire were great and were beating the other competitors by performance and style. The final statement in my mind and I know the others will agree, is that it’s a company that makes superb products and now they are presenting another successor to accompany that hall of fame. It is a top model graphic card and it is called 6970 HD. This graphic card is definitely the best card that you can find on the marked today and the full name is “Sapphire RadeonHD 6970 2GB GDDR5 Dual Fan”.

On a first glance the card resembles an older model Sapphire HD 6870 Dirt3, but first glances are misleading. These two cards have similar coolant systems, but HD 6970 has five heat pipes and the one on the HD 6870 has only two. The coolant is more massive and the whole card is longer.
