The Clash Of The Middle Class – Part 7 – XFX Radeon HD 7770 Black Edition

XFX Radeon HD 7770 Black EditionThe last of the cards in this test comes from the American manufacturer XFX. The tested model is a part of their Black Edition, which defers from the rest of their offer by the great cooling technology Duratec, which incorporates high quality coils with a ferrite core. Their card looks appealing with the impeccably designed cooler that has a shield made out of brushed aluminum. In the price range of the Radeon HD 7770 this is really a rare thing, because the choice of material usually goes to plastic. Read more of this post

The Clash Of The Middle Class – Part 6 – HIS Radeon HD 7770 IceQ X Turbo

HIS Radeon HD 7770 IceQ X TurboThe next card comes from the manufacturer HIS, which is not so well known, but it has a lot to offer. The card has their IceQ X suffix, which was formerly well known among the cooling systems of GPU’s as the DirectCU is now.

The Clash Of The Middle Class – Part 5 – Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Vapor-X

Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Vapor-XAs we said this is the second part of the comparison, where the opposition will be shown. The Clash Of The Middle Class – part 4 – Palit GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB and 2GB Version

Palit GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB and 2GB VersionFor the test we have chosen 2 GPU’s by Palit that are identical to each other, with the only difference being the dedicated RAM memory provided. Palit’s GPU’s look a lot simpler than the Asus GPU. Firstly, the cooler has the same dimensions as the board, so its overall size is almost half than the DirectCU II. The plastic cover hides only one fan that belongs to the TurboFan Blade family, which has a bigger cooling capability than a regular fan and produces less noise. Underneath it has a simple aluminum body that has a lot of ribs. The lack of heatpipes, copper parts and any other advanced tech is more than obvious. Read more of this post

Asus GeForce GTX 650 Ti DirectCU II TopThe first of the GPU’s that we are reviewing is essentially the best, ranking on the scores and as usually the quality of production is great.

As always, we are reviewing the best of each company and this from Asus means the DirectCU II in a Top variant. This company puts a lot of faith in their cooling systems and we would say that it is fully approved. Read more of this post

The Clash Of The Middle Class – Part 2

NVidia vs AMDThe first three models that we are reviewing are coming from NVidia and their subsidiaries and hold the GK 106 chip. As it seems, this chip is a much stronger competitor than anticipated.

As all the rest GPU’s in this generation, the GK 106 is made in 28nm manufacturing process and it is based on Kepler architecture. This new chip on a hardware level supports all the latest standards: DirectX 11, Shader Model 5.0, OpenGL 4.2 and technologies directly connected to nVidia’s chips as: PhysX, 3D Vision, PureVideo HD, Cuda etc. Read more of this post

The Clash Of The Middle Class – Part 1

Pantech Flex – Dual Personality

Pantech FlexThis one is mainly for the English readers.

The company Pantech has been pushing out midrange phones on the English market for a while and the majority of them can be described as mediocre. This one breaks that stereotype with its specifications and what it has under the hood.

The Pantech Flex deserves its name because of the software that it has inside. To be precise, it works on Android 4.0.4 that can be boot up in an easy mode – made for people with less understanding of modern Android usage and a standard mode that is more or less as any other Android software. Oppo Find 5This Chinese company is not that well known outside its country, but they have introduced phablet (phone-tablet), that is nothing but revolutionary, in today’s sense of the word. Their product has stirred a lot of dust, because of the performances and its overall dimensions that are not matched so far.

The phablet is called Oppo Find 5 and it has a 5 inch screen that has a resolution, which even Apples products dream of. Lenovo IdeaPad U310 – A Cheap Ultrabook

Lenovo IdeaPad U310After all the new and expensive ultrabooks that we have reviewed made by Lenovo, the time has come to introduce an older, but cheaper one. It belongs to the IdeaPad series that is aimed at the low end of the market that is the most vast consumer part and in that part of the market it is the hardest thing to be unique. This ultrabook doesn’t shine with hardware, or with its design or manufacturing process, but it sticks out with its price.

The one that we are reviewing goes with the suffix (59336184) and it is the only one in this series that doesn’t have Ivy Bridge architecture.  Read more of this post
