Google Nexus 10 – Is It The One We Were Hoping For?

Google Nexus 10This summer we were amazed by the tablet that Google introduced with cooperation with Asus, their little wonder the 7 inch Nexus. This tablet blew every one away with the amazing specifications incorporated in that small package and the starting price of about $200. Now, Google has introduced the bigger brother, which was made incorporation with Samsung which has a lot to say for itself, even though it is a bit slower than the smaller one.

So what is new here?

The selling point of this iteration of the Nexus tablet is not amazing processor speeds of the smaller brother, but the amazing screen. It has a screen resolution of 2560x1600dpi, which is the same as the 13 inch Apple Mac Book Pro with a retina screen, but here that resolution is packed in a smaller diagonal. This screen shows true colors and has great viewing angles and it comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection. It has quite a big bezel surrounding the screen, which some will love, giving it enough grip space, but it makes it look chunky.  The tablet itself weighs 603g, which is not bad for a 10 incher.

Inside it has a Dual-core A-15 processor, which has been clocked at amazing 1.7GHz and packed with 2GB of working memory, making it quite fast. In addition, it has a quad Mali-T604 GPU that will run everything that you throw at it.

On the connection side it has all the newest connections, even implementing a dual side NFC chip and a great Wi-Fi adapter. It has a micro USB adapter and a 3.5mm jack, but it lacks an expansion slot, which by our view is again a bad move. It comes with the latest Android 4.2 operating system.

This tablet is supposed to push developers to design program with its specs and manufacturers to take it as an example of their next generation of tablets. It will come in a 32 and 64GB versions with quite a bigger price starting at $399.
