iPad Mini – Is It All That We Were Expecting?

Apple iPad MiniMacintosh didn’t roll over and die after the death of their CEO Steve Jobs as everyone feared, instead they are introducing new products all the time and some of them wouldn’t be here if he was leading the company. Now, the hype that was started about the iPad mini has come to an interesting end, with its reveal. The speculation about its form and overall design was disproven and the newest product is getting ready to hit the shelves on the second of November.

Firstly, this iPad will be in a tight battle with the Google Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD. The iPad, by itself is in a different price category, but with similar specifications. It is a 7.9 inch tablet with a LED backlight screen, that gives out great color saturation and viewing angles and the same resolution as the iPad 2- 1024×768, that measures 163ppi density. The screen is a bit of a box shaped and supports 4:3 viewing standard. With this and the resolution it doesn’t need of programs rewriting, so everything that was working with the iPad 2 will work with this one. In the design aspect it is quite thin 7.2mm and very light, measuring only 308g. It supports the new lightning port, has stereo speakers and a 5MP camera in the back. The battery life expectancy is 10h.

The tablet works with the single-core A5 processor that is quite good in doing its job, but not perfect, when compared with the latest iteration of the iPad, that has a dual-core A6 processor. The storage space and the price always go together here and here is where it gets tricky.

The iPad mini will come in several versions with and without LTE connectivity and the prices are as follows: $329-16GB, $429-32GB, $529-64GB and $130 more for the LTE variants. These prices are quite a big shock, but will not be a problem for all the Apple devotees.
