Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini – A Smaller And Cheaper SIII

Samsung Galaxy SIII MiniSamsung has been a leader for a while now at the mobile market and that is for a reason. They are offering wonderful phone design and with that a great hardware and innovative ideas on the market. They have hit the sweet spot with the latest Samsung Galaxy SIII, but that phone is for people with deep pockets. Now they unveiled their newest marvel, a smaller brother for this monster of a phone, the Samsung Galaxy SIII mini. This “little” phone still brings great specs and a design that is same as the all-time favorite, its bigger brother.

The mini has everything that the full size SIII has, but in a smaller quantity. From the design aspect, as we said it is almost the same, but now it is a 4.0 inch phone, instead of 4.8 inch. It is a bit thicker also, it measures 9.9mm, instead of 8.6 and that is it from a design aspect.

The hardware is also slimmer, offering a Super AMOLED  800 x 480 pixel screen, instead of a HD 720 x 1280 pixel one.  It works on a dual-core processor that runs on 1GHz, instead of the quad-core 1.4GHz in the full sized SIII. It brings the same amount of 1 GB RAM, but on the ROM field it will come in two variations in 8 or 16 GB.

The camera is also smaller bringing 5MP, instead of 8MP and it can film a 720p video with 30fps, instead of 1080p with 30fps.  From the connectivity aspect, it only lacks the LTE support of the bigger brother, while the NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi are there. The last thing that is a bit of a disappointment is that the implemented battery is 1500mAh that will not give the user a great lifetime. The great thing is that it comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a lot of usable software, as the bigger brother.

Assuming that this phone will come with a much smaller price tag, it should be a great phone for the ones that are not striving to have the best on the market, or just haven’t got that much money.
