As everyone is eagerly awaiting the coming out of the new Win8, the tensions are rising and we see more and more Win8 phones on the market. This is the case with HTC 8S, which is a midrange response by HTC for this upcoming battle. The phone is also called Windows Phone 8S. This phone will come out at the same time with its stronger brother the HTC 8X and they both have to satisfy a part of the market.

The phone doesn’t scream out anything special. It is a midrange phone with midrange specs. The unibody design is a bit of a turnoff, but it is a style that more and more companies are striving to. The phone is promised to come in multiple colors and color combinations, which is also becoming a trend with the Win phones. This gives it a playful look, but still the phone looks sturdy enough.

The HTC 8S has a 4.3 inch (480×800 pixels) Super LCD display and Gorilla Glass coating. The screen is not quite HD, but it is good enough and it has good viewing angles.  Inside it has a midrange Qualcomm S4 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB working memory. This is accompanied by 4GB of internal storage space a microSD slot and as an addition you get 7GB online storage space by SkyDrive.  The phone has Beats audio integrated, but it doesn’t come with Beats headphones.  It has a back 5MP camera that should make dissent pictures, but it lacks a front camera (according to HTC this is to reduce cost).  The last thing is that it has a 1700mAh battery that will give you a full day of usage.

This phone is expected to come out at the beginning of November together with its bigger brother, so the pricing is still unknown.
