In the chase of introducing a universal player a station that will unite all the multimedia aspects of a multimedia station and will eliminate the need of a computer placed in the living room, Samsung has introduced one of their solutions. It is an all in one station that looks like a normal Blu-ray station, but it is much more than that.

Starting from the beginning its look is minimalistic with no physical buttons to ruin the front side, which makes it blend into the environment. All the functions are placed on a touch sensitive screen incorporated in the front mask, also providing the option to play something without turning on the TV.

Inside it has 1GB memory that is used for all the applications, 2GB memory for the BD live and it has a 500GB hard drive. This memory can be expanded by connecting another hard drive or a memory stick via the 2 USB 2.0 ports (one in the front, one in the back). The reproduction is also available via Ethernet adapter, Blu-ray media and one of the best features the built in digital tuner. Relating to that, it can scan and play DVB-T and DVB-C digital signals. Also it can play a lot of video formats as well as full 1080p video and 3D video. Among the audio formats that are supported comes the high quality DTS Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD sound, providing a clear and high quality sound.

There are a lot of smart features that will make your ordinary TV become a smart TV. It has a lot of features that you can find on the new Samsung TV’s, one is called Smart Hub also you have Android looking software that you can install. Family Story is a kind of a mini social network that will give you an opportunity to exchange messages with other people. There is also a Fitness option that will give you a lot of videos on fitness exercises. Than you have Social TV, which unites services like Facebook, Twitter and Google Talk. The last thing that we are going to mention is that it has some standard options that are defining the Smart TV like- Web Browser, Weather, YouTube, Video and Picasa.

All in all, it is a great try by Samsung to make the HTPC become an all in one station with a minimalistic design.
