Sony Xperia U

Sony Xperia UThe characteristics by which Xperia U differs from the rest of the Xperia models are the see through line that is just above its base, through which a specific colored light illuminates according to the content that showed on the screen, i.e. the dominant shade. If that is not cheerful enough for you, you can take of the plastic cover of the base and change it with another color cover. Last the battery cover can also be easily changed in a different color variant, with which the color combinations are exponentially expanded. Curios teenagers will probably flip out at this notion and the more conservative users can introduce a bit of color into their everyday life.  As its older brother the Xperia S it is also dressed from head to tows in plastic casing, with an extremely slippery back surface, making it slip out of your hands very easily.

In a packet with the cheerful outfit it has a support for Sony’s xLoud 3D surround engine that through the back speaker delivers a very strong sound, but not with the same quality as the other high end Xperia phones. It has an 8 GB internal flash memory, but only half of it is at the user’s disposal. Because it hasn’t got an additional memory card slot, this phone won’t be a good solution for high demanding users. It has all the standard connectors like a 3.5mm audio port and a microUSB port.

Sony Xperia U has three sensor keys placed right above the see through line, but they are not clearly displayed, so it will be hard to adapt to them at the beginning. The screen is a 3.5 inch LCD with a resolution of 480×854 pixels and it has a good response. It has a 5MP camera with a LED flash and gives out above average quality pictures.

We are a bit disappointed with the old version of Android that comes with it (v2.3.7), especially after Sony introduced Ice Cream Sandwich for their phones. In a different view it has a low demand of resources and with its dual core Arm Cortex –A9 processor that works on 1.5GHz at least the user will have smooth sailing.
