Revoltec Active Aluminum HDD Cooler – Cool Data

Revoltec HDD CoolerWhen someone is thinking about components which are heating up in the computer one firstly thinks about the graphic card, processor and chipset putting them on top of the list. As the big cases mainly have several coolant fans, rarely one thinks about the hard drive heating up. But, now faced with the scorching heat from the summer days normally we are faced with overheating and additional stress of the components and between them come the hard drives, which can heat up, up to really concerning high temperatures.

That’s why we are reviewing an active cooler that is made especially for hard drives, which should ease the next remaining period of the rest of the summer providing cool air to your data keeping it cool and safe reliving you from any worry about the hard drive overheating.

We are talking about an aluminum passive cooler with two built in fans with a diameter of 50 mm each, which is made and meant for the standard 3.5 inch hard drives. We cannot categorize the fans as too noisy, but if you are a man that appreciates some peace and quiet you would prefer connecting them to some fan regulation unit which will give you the control over their speed/noise ratio. While testing the unit the cooler managed to lower down the hard drive temperature by four degrees, which, even though doesn’t seem too much, can mean the difference between a normal temperature and cooking your data on a scorching stove.

This coolant system is a useful gadget which is mainly made for casings that have poor ventilation inside or have a small number of fans that cannot conduct the air properly, giving them a better chance of fighting the hot summer days. It will also come in handy in well “drafted” casings.
