Origin Eon 17S – Another Laptop That Pushes The Limits

Origin Eon 17SOrigin has been making top of the line laptops for a while and now they have made a laptop that is pushing the limits of how strong a laptop can be. The company even gives the option of customizing your own backslide, adding everything from design options, to a choice of color and final coting. Even though you can make your own impression on the backside, the rest of the laptop has a more classical inside style.

The overall dimensions of the laptop of 16.2x 10.9x 1.7- 1.8 are making the laptop be pretty chunky, but the overall weight of 8.2 pounds or 3.7 kg, makes this laptop quite lighter than the competition. The keyboard of this laptop is not a Chiclet, which we don’t like at all, but it has a full lighting background and it is adjustable, so you can have it shine in any color you like. The touch pad is quite big and good enough and below the touch pad you have the dedicated keys and in the middle of them there is a fingerprint scanner.

The most amazing thing about this laptop, except for its really high price, is the processor that it holds. It is an Ivy Bridge 2.9-GHz i7 -3920XM processor that can be overclocked up to 4.1 GHz. Also, it packs 16GB DDR3 RAM, dual 120GB SSD drives that run in RAID 0 configurations and an additional 1TB hard drive. All of this is accompanied by nVidia’s GeForce 675M GPU that packs 2GB of VRAM. This combo pushes out amazing specs on the virtual tests, beating even the strongest competition. The screen accompanying this laptop is a full HD that provides great colors and even greater lamination of 262 lux, exceeding the competition.

It has all the ports necessary and even some more. It holds one USB 2.0, DVD ROM, and DVI– out, jacks for audio in, microphone, headphones, a USB 3.0 and USB 3.0/eSATA combo, Ethernet, FireWire and a 3 in 1 card reader. Additionally to this bundle of ports there are additional ports on the back side including a DVI-out, a Display Port and a HDMI port. There is also an infrared blaster on the front side that can be coupled with the TV card and remote that you can get for additional $90.

The worst thing about this laptop is its overwhelming price of $3370.
