Highlight

Highlight is a mobile ambient awareness app. When you are within close vicinity with another Highlight user who is also your Facebook friend or that you have friends or interests in common with, this app will send you a push notification and let you message them. The app’s home screen displays a reverse chronological list of all the people you’ve crossed paths with.

This app helps you learn more about the people around you. So if a person is close to you who also have Highlight, their profile will show up on your phone. You can see their information such as their name, photos, mutual friends, and anything else they have chosen to share. Highlight also helps you see what you have in common with a person you just met.

As you go by your usual routine every day, Highlight will run in the background, and pops information about the people around you. If your friends are close, it will inform you. If an interesting person crosses your path, it will give you more information. Simply put, it will give you an extra sense about the world around you, showing you hidden connection and making your day more fun.

Highlight got smart updates. The first new addition is Highlight. With this you can add a person to a saved list of contacts by simply clicking on their profile. The second is in relation with the first. You get to turn Highlighted people into long- term connection. You can follow a link from users’ Highlight profiles to see the original versions. Finally, it has subtly changed how it displays location times. So if someone is near you, the time- stamp will say “Now.” Otherwise, it will say how many times ago they left the vicinity and they’ll drop down into the history list of formerly nearby folks. It sure is a fun way to learn more about people nearby!
