Asus TAICHI – Beyond Innovative

Asus TAICHIAsus has been on our blog a lot of times and for a good reason. They are bringing new innovations every second. So they made few tablets so what? They broke some mainstream rules about how the whole notebook/tablet concept should be, so what? Well now they are going a step further as they announced at Computex. They are going to introduce a new line called TAICHI series notebooks that will reinvent the notebook/tablet combo.

Well what does it bring us? What is so innovative?

The TAICHI will pack two displays, one in the front and one in the rear, while still keeping a sleek thin design. The screen in the back is a multi-touch sensitive screen. Both of the screens will be Super IPS+ 11.6 inch or 13.3 inch -1920×1080 pixel screens and both of them can show different content at the same time. When you close the lid and use the top touch sensitive screen you will have the option of using the Stylus, which comes with it.

The TAICHI will include Intel ivy Bridge platform and Core i7 processor, will hold 4GB DDR3 RAM and SSD storage drives. It will have all the necessary connections like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well as mini VGA port, micro DVI port, a two in one headphone/microphone jack and two USB 3.0 ports. It has also dual cameras, of which the rear facing camera is a 5MP and the front facing camera is a HD camera. It has a Chiclet keyboard that will be backlit and quite big trackpad.

It will work on Windows 8 and will be fully compatible with the Windows 8 metro interface. As said before, the screens can show the same content mirroring each other, or they can be used separately showing different content.  This notebook is going to be launched with the official launching of Windows 8.
