Canon EOS C300 – New Generation Of Filming

Canon EOS C300

Canon EOS C300

Canon has been a part of the picture taking game for a long time. With the DSLR revolution of picture taking a lot of film directors found out that they can use DSLR in their film making. So the evolution has begun. Film makers started using DSLR cameras and with that they are forcing an evolution of the cameras. Canon realized that this is the logical step of evolution and after pulling out their EOS 5D cameras that were seen as a stepping stone, they rethought the whole concept and made the next logical evolution step and made a professional camcorder that is the new EOS C300.

This camera is compact HD camera which comes in two versions- with a mount for Canon lenses (it can hold all the lenses that a professional has collected for a DSLR camera or normal lenses) and in a version with mount for standard filmmakers lenses. It can film on two CF memory cards in the standard formats and all that is taken is fully usable with all the standard professional editing software. The camera itself has a wide CMOS sensor that is equal to three Super 35mm and that relates to (3840×2160) effective pixels or a 8.29MP. This pixel size is then divided in the three primary colors RGB full HD for each making it very sensitive for every color and not losing any quality when shooting. This also makes it perfect for filming in the dark so even when using the maximal ISO of 20000 the image is crisp with almost no noise.  All the buttons on the camera are programmable making it very versatile and limiting the need of going in the menu options for adjustments. The camera has a 4inch LCD screen that can be mounted on the top and is very adjustable. The overall weight is 3.2 pounds making it very light and portable.

This camera has a lot more to offer but the overall specifications cannot be put in such a small text. The last thing to be said is that it already has fans all over the filming industry. And if you are a professional filmmaker the price of $16000 shouldn’t be a problem for having a top of the line camera.
