DesignDuke Makes Web Widget Designing Easy

DesignDuke

DesignDuke

DesignDuke is a WYSIWTG (what you see is what you get) editor for the styling of HTML widgets and user interface.

What DesignDuke provides you is the ease of use of a WYSIWYG design along with the flexibility of hand coding. It is armed with auto generation of cross browser CSS3 properties, predefined style rules for commonly used elements and re-use of styles, widgets. That helps you to make your designing workflow simpler and smoother.

DesignDuke lets you to view and modify CSS properties on the fly so that you no longer need to modify, save and reload. It lets you save and reuse widgets so that you can easily theme widgets or use them as base for your next widget. DesignDuke makes the evolving of designs as simple as clicking.

It has predefined styles to use as starting points. If you want more control with styling or add an obscure hack for older browser, you can use CSS/HTML editor to directly edit your widget.

You can design, manage and test all your styles and widgets right from the browser. There is no installation or syncing of files required. Everything is saved and accessed from the cloud.

Designers would like to know that DesignDuke does not automatically generate cross browser code. It is up to the user to take into account browser peculiarities. The editor does, however, automatically generate appropriate cross browser prefixes for CSS properties.

Currently, DesignDuke is free for everyone, but once they are out of beta, they will be charging reasonable prices for the product.

DesignDuke is an extension of the tool the team of DesignDuke built to serve their internal needs. It is good that they found that it could help others in simplifying their web designing workflow and they made it public.
