Berlin Boombox –Inventive, Cheap and Recyclable

Berlin Boombox

Everyone had an idea in their life that thought that would sell well, be interesting or even save the world from poverty or hunger. Well this is an idea that came out of necessity, as the creator says. He wanted to find a good iPod dock for his iPod that would be cheap enough and give out good quality but, the ones on the market that he liked were either too expensive, bad quality or bad looking. So he went and made his own iPod dock, and the interesting part is that he made it almost completely out of recyclable cardboard, with some essential parts made of metal, plastic and wiring. The essential model comes in black and white. The whole Boombox ships out disassembled in a small flat cardboard box.

According to the creator the Berlin Boombox is really easy to assemble. You just pop out the stuff out of the box, you glue here and there, put the speakers, wiring and batteries in their respectful places and you are ready to go. For this task you won’t even need any tools. When you are done, you just put in the four AA batteries that come with the package, you connect your favorite portable music device (it is compatible with any player or phone that has a 3.5 mm headphone jack), and out of that nice cardboard shell you can hear every tone in a nice, not bad at all quality. The life span of the batteries is not known but, it should be quite a while. The sound that comes out of the Boombox can be preset with a custom sound profile made just for iOS devices- this will give you a remastered audio in real time and it is supposed to use Berliners Boombox full potential.

The inventor has set the price of this lovely Boombox at $50 for a pre-order and there are also some other prices like: for $100 you can have it in two-tones, for $250 you will get a custom made Boombox just for you and for $500 you can have a dinner and tour around Berlin with the inventor. Nice promotion strategy.
