The New iPad

Apple has revealed the new iPad, but the question in everyone’s mind is what is new? Why should they give seemingly half of their pay for the newest “I” baby? What has changed and is it worth it?

On the other text we revealed the main specs of the new iPad or iPad3, but let’s go into the details.

The new retina display is still as glossy as it can be and some people say it is good to use as a mirror when it is off. It seems that Apple loves the ultra-glossy finish. The improved screen has, double the pixel density of a HD monitor and it has over a million pixels more than a regular HDTV. The monitor is capable of reproducing a 1080p video, instead of the 720p in the iPad 2.

Apple said it will be better than Xbox 360 and SP3 because of the better display and processor power, but that is to be seen; nevertheless they are ancient history in tech terms by now anyway, so it was bound to happen. To show off the capability of the new hardware, the new iPad or iPad3 was presented with two games “Infinity Blade: Dungeons” and “Sky Gamblers”, with this showing off the crisp and smooth gaming capabilities.

The other new thing is that the iOS 5.1 operating system, which doesn’t bring anything new at the table except an updated camera application, a personal hotspot and a multi-language dictation support. They also implemented “iCloud” support in the iOS 5.1, that will allow storing and streaming content from and to every “I” toy that you have.

There is a new “dictation feature”- or speech to text, a new “iMovie”- for editing video and a new version of “Garage band”- making music.

To top all of this, the battery life stays the same 10h for the regular usage and 9h with the battery eating 4G support.
