How often have you taken a picture with a normal camera and it was out of focus? Or you missed it because of the lag in the shutter speed and setting up the camera. With that you lose the only opportunity to capture a moment that won’t happen again.
The company Lytro introduced a new camera that captures new kind of photographs. It is a camera that uses a brand new technology that takes away the need of focusing and shutter speed and other factors that are needed in the regular cameras. It captures the whole available light field, instead of capturing a single plane of light. Doing so the camera can take instant photographs with no need of focusing on one point and it does that in a flash with no shutter time and it is extremely good at taking low light pictures. Also the software provided with its purchase gives you the opportunity to have live pictures, a process giving you the opportunity to play with the focus of the photographs after taking the photos and even after posting them online.
The Lytro camera has a slim, elegant rectangular design with almost no buttons on it. It just has the power button, the button for taking pictures and a slider that is used for zooming. On the back of the camera there is a built in 1.4inch multi touch screen that gives you the opportunity to play with the focus of the pictures on spot. It has a built in 8x optical zoom and the lens has a constant f/2 aperture which is more than most of the regular cameras have. It is made out of anodized aluminum and it weighs 240g, and the battery life is estimated from 500 to 700 photos taken.
They have it in three colors and two price/specs ranges. There is the “Red Hot”- which has a built in 16GB storage and it costs $499 and the cheaper two models “Graphite” and “Electric Blue” which have 8GB of storage and cost $399.
