Daymak’s “Shadow Ebike”- eco-friendly and wireless bike

Daymak is a Toronto based company that is trying to change how people go from one place to another with their Eco-friendly products. They have a new concept that has hit the streets and it is not a new thing, as a mater a fact they are rebuilding one of the first energy efficient ways of travel, the bike.

Their baby is a bike that is power assisted or motor assisted electric bike which is called “Shadow Ebike”. But that is not the new thing because we had bikes like that before. The new thing is that is wireless. Everything from the brakes to the gear cables, electric wires connecting the motor, the batteries, the controller or the throttle, even the power on/off button is not connected to anything. So let’s underline:

  • Wireless Power on/off button
  • Wireless Throttle
  • Wireless Magnetic Brakes with regenerative abilities
  • Wireless Pedal Assist

They designed a wheel that has inside a 250W or 350W motor, a 36V Lithium battery, wireless controller, a port for charging and a power display for the battery. They redesigned the bike from the ground up because the wheels were too wide so they made a wider custom fork and designed a frame for the bike to give it an aesthetic look.

Their specs say that it can go for20-25 km when it’s only the motor working and 35-40 km when its pedal assisted. And it can go at a top speed of 38 km/h but they limited the speed to 32 km/h for safety reasons. The whole bike is quite heavy with its 26 kilos but they say that it goes like a charm.

So for many Eco-friendly people that love new technologies the price tag of $2.149 may be to high but what can you say it is the first wireless bike on the marked, so heads will turn to see what is between their legs.
