Compath.me: Discover your community by sharing photos

Compath

Compath

Compath.me is an app that helps you to discover locations and events around you. Be it popular spots, restaurants, shops, items or events, Compath informs you about it.

It is not your regular photo sharing app where you share photographs of events etc. It helps you to know about your local community from the comfort of your home by browsing photographs based on categories.

Compath provides you with various settings that help you in categorizing your photo such as scenery, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, cafes etc. Because Compath connects with your social networking accounts on Facebook and Twitter, it knows your preferences and tastes.

When you post a picture on Compath, you will be requested to categorize your photo so that others in your area can also get to know about the place you visited. This interest-based social networking app is a must for everyone. After all, we all want to know about exciting and new places to visit around our locality.

The Tokyo-based start-up from Open Network Lab released their iPhone app recently. CEO of Compath, Hiromichi Ando says, “A survey says 43 percent of the people who try to find their local business actually use Google, but it gives them unsatisfactory responses because the most useful tips are buried among miscellaneous search results.”

To solve this problem, most people in the US use social media as an alternative. Mr. Ando adds, “. . . we need to invent a social media especially designed for discovering a place to visit and an experience to share. That is Compath.me.”

Compath uses grade system. Your status is raised when you post a picture or comment on a post. That keeps the users excited and hooked. Moreover, Compath is very simple to use. All you need to get a photograph on Compath is three simple steps: Upload a picture, choose a category and add a short description.

The app was developed by a team of seven people including the CEO and CTO.
