MinoMonsters, a controlling-monsters battle game for iPhone, has raised a total of $1 million in seed funding during 2011.

Surprisingly, the founders of MinoMonsters are teenagers. They have got Andreessen Horowitz, SV Angel, Yuri Milner, Y Combinator, Ignition Partners, General Catalyst, Raymond Tonsing and Alexis Ohanian investing in their creation.

Part of the funding was used to open offices in San Francisco, in expanding the team to eleven and in the development of MinoMonsters for its iOS debut on the App store on 6th December.

MinoMonsters also took on board 25-year-old T.J. Murphy as co-founder and chief of tech. He will be responsible for development and the company’s technology strategy. The original founder, Tyler Diaz will, meanwhile, will finish high school. It seems like the young brigade is out to destroy some.

MinoMonsters was also launched on Facebook, but due to the change in technology where most game users used mobile phones made the team change their plan. They decided to create MinoMonsters exclusively for mobile and took the game out of Facebook.

The game has an option of a single player or multiplayer, but the team has focused on the latter one because they want the game to be one of the first iOS titles that makes a gamer play with others.

In essence, the game involves controlling monsters to achieve a goal. Every monster has its own distinctive personality and poses challenges for the player/s.

The team’s future plans are large. They want to create a brand where these social games characters breed angry birds, stuffed animals, animated cartoons and so on. They want the monsters to lead them into animation and toys. This is just the beginning.
