Top10, a London-based company, helps people share top 10 of almost everything. Top 10 actresses, top 10 clubbing holidays, top 10 zombie games, top 10 things to do in New York and so on. You can add an item that interests you, invite friends from social networking sites, add friends and share your Top 10 activities on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

The company, Top10 Group Inc. was founded in 2011 and has raised $3.5 million in a Series A financing by Accel Partners, Founder Collective, Idealab, Forward Venture Partners and Shakil Khan.

Top10 is a recommendation platform that lets people share their experiences and recommend products, places and services to others. The primary aim of Top 10 is to help people make informed choices about what they buy and from where.

A recommendation platform in an age when most people are hooked on to the Internet for practical advice on products and services is a good idea. No wonder they could raise millions from venture capitalists for Top10.

The company talks about Top10 as the “ultimate platform to discover, create and share recommendations about the stuff you love”. Indeed, that is exactly what you will see on their website. Opinions about anything and everything can be found on Top10, which is aggregated under topics for easy access. A user can follow Top10 on Facebook and Twitter.

As the company CEO, Tom Leathes, summaries that they are building a platform for buying products based on people’s reviews. With more and more people turning to the Internet to check the reviews of a product before buying, Top10 seems to have placed themselves in the right place.
